What is online therapy?
Online therapy is similar to face-to-face therapy as in so much that the client is offered a safe non-judgmental space to discuss any issues they are currently going through. The only difference is that the client and therapist don't occupy the same physical space but instead they connect online.

ONLINE THERAPY SERVICES
What does What's Next Counselling offer?
Talking Therapy
A 60 minute therapy session held by way of a telephone call or video call.

These sessions are priced at £55 per session.

Concessions are also available to students and trainee therapists, please contact me for further details.

Sessions are available from 7am Monday to Friday, subject to availability.

My last appointment is at 6pm to allow those who need to fit their therapy around other commitments.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CONTACT WHAT'S NEXT COUNSELLING?
When you enquire about starting therapy, the first step will be a free 30 minute consultation, conducted by either telephone or video call. This will give us both an opportunity to see if we feel comfortable working together and for you to ask any questions you might have about me or the therapeutic process.

When you decide to commence therapy, I will then email you a client information form to complete and my counselling contract. It is important for you to read the counselling contract before electronically signing it, to ensure you are comfortable with its content and to give you the opportunity to ask any questions about it.

Once the client information form and counselling contract have been returned, we will agree the day and time for your therapy session.

The therapy fee is due before the session and once this has been received, I will email the video link to you or if you are accessing therapy by way of telephone call, I will contact you at the agreed time.
Email Therapy
A therapy session conducted by way of email.

The client sends an email of 800 words and each response costs £55.
EMAIL THERAPY - HOW DOES IT WORK?

Email Therapy Vs Traditional Therapy
The main difference between the two is traditional therapies involve the therapist and client holding the same space for an agreed period of time. With email therapy, the client emails their thoughts but the response of the therapist isn't instant.

Due to the nature of email therapy, if you are struggling with your mental health and you need immediate support, services are available such as:
-
Samaritans - 116 123
-
CALM - 0800 585858
-
Shout - Text 'shout' to 85258

Timescales and Pricing
What's Next Counselling charges £55 per email exchange, which is up to 800 words per email.
The client decides when they will email their thoughts and I will respond to that email within 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays).
As part of the session fee, I will spend 60 minutes providing a unique and tailored response to your email.
Is email therapy secure?
What's Next Counselling uses an encrypted email service to ensure the security of the content shared.
To provide additional security, emails will be password protected.
Single Session Therapy
A single session of therapy designed to help work through a single issue.

Sessions can last between 60 minutes and two hours.
SINGLE SESSION THERAPY: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW?

WHAT IS SINGLE SESSION THERAPY GOOD FOR?
Single session therapy can help with a number of issues that you are dealing with in your day-to-day life such as decision making, relationship or life decisions, stress or work related stress or family problems. It can be a space for you to have a difficult conversation with someone who doesn't know you or will judge you.

WHAT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE SINGLE SESSION THERAPY FOR?
Single Session Therapy is not designed to help you with any long standing traumatic issues, long-term depression or illness or bereavement. These issues usually take time to deal with and cannot be dealt with in the course of an individual session.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS AND WHAT DO THEY COST?
Single Session Therapy sessions can last either 60, 90 or 120 minutes depending on availability and how long you feel like you may need to work through the session at hand. These sessions cost £70, £97.50 or £125 respectively. Please note that these sessions cost more than a standard session of therapy due to the preparation involved.
I WANT A SINGLE SESSION OF THERAPY, WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
When you contact What's Next Counselling to arrange a single session of therapy, I will in return email you a copy of the single session therapy contract for electronic signature and a pre-session questionnaire. The contract provides you with details of the service, gives you the opportunity to decide how long you would like your session to be. The pre-session questionnaire provides me with an opportunity to ensure that single session therapy is suitable for you and gives me some background information so that our session can be focused on the issue you are wanting to deal with. Once the contract and questionnaire have been returned and payment has been made for the session, we will agree a time and date for your session and if needed, a meeting link will be provided. Please be advised that should you choose a 120 minute session but opt not to use the full time, no refunds will be given.

WHAT IF I NEED MORE SUPPORT?
Following your single session of therapy, you are more than welcome to consider a 30 minute follow up call at the cost of £35 or alternatively you can consider starting regular therapy. There is also the option for you to consider another single session of therapy at a future date should you feel that this is appropriate.
