Welcome

My name is Lee Sims. I use the pronouns he/him.

I am a fully qualified, insured counsellor and psychotherapist who holds registered membership with The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy as well as with The Association for Counselling and Therapy Online.

I offer Single Session, Short-Term or Long-Term therapy.

I specialise in providing counselling services to men and those clients struggling with transitions in their life. Such transitions could be:

  • Preparing for or leaving education.

  • Relationship breakdowns.

  • Changes in the family dynamics.

  • Bereavement.

  • Difficulties and challenges in being a parent.

I also work with those clients who are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, low self-esteem and trauma, especially generational trauma.

I want you to know that as a therapist, this is what I will do for you as a potential client:

  • Always put YOU the client first.

  • Structure a therapy session how you prefer it to be structured, so if you want me to lead a session whilst you find your feet, no problem!

  • Not leave long silences throughout sessions (although some are good whilst we are both reflecting on our thoughts).

  • Check in at the end of the session to make sure we are covering the things you need to work through and that I am understanding you properly.

  • Always be honest and considerate in any conversations that we have.

  • Be open about my own limitations as a therapist and a human and how that might be playing out in the therapy space.

  • Be authentic in the way I communicate.

What's Next Counselling offers appointments starting at 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (subject to availability). Therapy is offered by way of video call, telephone call or email.

Please feel free to contact me for further information.
